Really enjoyed my chat with Omar Acosta - if you don't know, his new documentary Mixtape is streaming on Paramount+...it's a beautifully crafted look at the history of mixtapes, from being a vehicle for DJs to establish their own celebrity, into being a format hated by the business but loved by rappers as a vehicle to shape their careers. This features legendary DJs like Kid Capri, Ron G, Doo Wop, Drama and many more, with insight from everyone from Dante Ross to Shaquille O'Neal to 50 Cent.

It was great to get into Omar's historic relationship with mixtapes as well as the broader hip hop culture, and his journey through art school and art direction into creative and visual storytelling.

Have a listen, and get your 7 day free trial on Paramount+ if you need, it's really worth a watch.
